Because I’ve been working on this project so infrequently I’ve decided to list the different processes I use to make the maps as a reference to myself and anyone else that is interested in creating them.
4″ Battle Tile
- 1 hex = 3′
- Hex width 0.02, Solid Fill, Colour 18
- Single Vertical Corridors 3.45
- Single Horizontal Corridors: 3.0
- Double Vertical Corridors 6.45
- Double Horizontal Corridors 5.7
- Wall Width is 0.40000
- Saving to PNG (300 DPI): 1385 x 1200 pixels
- Saving to PNG (200 DPI): 924 x 800 pixels
- Saving to PNG (150 DPI): 693 x 600 pixels
7″ Battle Tile
- 1 hex = 3′
- Hex width 0.02, Solid Fill, Colour 18
- Single Width Corridors
- Horizontal Corridors 3.20
- Vertical Corridors 3.75
- Double Width Corridors
- Horizontal Corridors 5′ 6″ wide
- Vertical Corridors 6′
- Triple Width Corridors
- Horizontal Corridors7′ 5″ wide
- Vertical Corridors 9′
- Wall Width is 0.40000
- Floor Width and Height is 5.0000
- Saving to PNG: 1267 x 1024
Large Scale Maps
- Opened up the Old School VC
- Width 100 Heigh 84
- Selected Grid Overlay->Grid Settings
- Choose Horizontal Hex
- Grid Spacing 3.00
- Selected Finish
- Selected Draw
- Hex or Square Overlay
- Horizontal Hex and Grid Spacing 3.00 was preselected
- Select Apply
- The Snap has now been reconfigured to the hex
- Using Colour 6 I created the proper size Hexagon with the Polygon Tool
- Create new Layer and Sheet “MASK”
- Select Colour 29
- Using the Polygon tool mask around the area
- Select Erase -> Colour -> Colour 6
- Make sure the sheet MASK is on the top
- Freeze Layer
- Save
